Flying

REAL AFRICA SAFARI HOLDINGS – THE FLYING OUTFITTERS

We are often referred to as the ‘flying outfitters’ in Africa, since we use our own aircraft to fly in and out of our hunting concessions. This has become a practice which is highly appreciated and enjoyed by our customers. The reasons are obvious, as this reduces a lot of unnecessary and often long driving ours by car.

Our customers have also come to enjoy the scenic beauty of the areas we fly over, as flying gives you that extra eagles view of the beautiful landscapes and scenery Africa has to offer.

Our flying rates are affordable and convenient, to say the least, as we use our own aircraft most of the time and also due to the fact that most of our PH’S (professional hunters) are also qualified and very capable pilots. This eliminates any unnecessary and extra pilot costs, normally associated with charter flights.

The use of aircraft in our operations has not only increased our customer convenience, but also our overall efficiency and success ratio. This is mostly due to the fact that, we often end up hunting in one concession, and then get a call in from another, stating that a huge trophy or specific specie (we may looking for) has just been sighted in one of our other concessions. Within the hour we can be airborne and before you know it we will be back on the hunt.

When you book your hunting trip with us, we will include your flying costs to and from the hunting areas, and also specify it seperately in your quote. Should you not want to use the option of flying, we also offer the normal driving option which is standard in the industry, and included in your hunting package at no extra cost.

The use of our aircraft has however made it possible that we can offer you a variety of hunting options, lodges and different locations to experience in a short period of time, without any inconvenience.

We basically use three types of aircraft in our operations. Depending on the size of the hunting party and the distance we need to cover, we either use the standard Cessna 210 (for smaller parties), the Cessna 208 Grand Caravan (for bigger parties – short distances) or the Beechcraft Commander for bigger parties and longer distances. The Commander is pressurised so we can fly much higher and thus faster than using the other aircraft.

Below is stock footage of the different aircraft used in our Group:

All the flying operations in Real Africa Safari Holdings is overseen and managed by senior partner, and commercial pilot Kobus Honiball.

Kobus is an experienced pilot with more than 4000 flying hours and counting (by the day). Kobus is also a senior and highly qualified aircraft technician. (One of the highest qualified in Namibia.) We thus have a very high safety record as Kobus not only does a lot of the flying, but also runs our own aircraft maintenance and supervising of all our pilots.

Safety comes first in our company, not only when flying but also when hunting. The discipline of our PH’S (pilots) are above average, and we leave nothing up to chance.
